HLPC's Annual Goal Setting – A success!
Empowered by our shared passion for literacy, the Hayward Literacy Plus Council Members and Hayward Public Library leaders Jayanti Addleman and Lindsey Vien came together for an annual retreat, where we focused on setting inspiring goals and reflecting on our learnings to further support the Literacy Plus Programs and enrich the local community.
This year’s annual retreat gave way to more intentional goals that will benefit the recipients of the programs and services being offered by the Literacy Plus Education Services Department of Hayward Public Library.
Special thanks to our fellow Council Member Kate Hardwig for hosting this year’s activity and for welcoming us to her beautiful home.
We are all excited to roll up our sleeves!

One of the best activities I've chosen since retirement is becoming a tutor of Literacy Plus. It's rewarding because I see progress. It's a wonderful program and very fulfilling.
I am a tutor of Literacy Plus because I love meeting people and getting a chance to get out there in my community.
In English Conversation Circles, people gain self-confidence by practicing English as their second language. The circles offer an understanding and motivating environment. No one feels judged. Everyone learns from one another. Everyone's language skills grow. Join the English Conversation Circles. I'm doing it and I love it!
